DESCRIPTION:In late July to early August 2025 there was an annual caving ex
 pedition carried out by Hungarian cavers. The expedition took place in the
  Lovcen National Park\, a mountainous park near the coastline in southeast
  Montenegro\, relatively close to Albania. Montenegro is a country in the 
 Dinaric Alps - the Balkans region of Europe. The caves in the nearby Cetin
 je region and in Lovcen National Park itself are the zone within which the
  expedition does its work. This region has Late Triassic and early Jurassi
 c limestone. The project's goals are to research the caves in Montenegro. 
 The karst landscape has caves everywhere with seemingly infinite potential
  for unmapped\, unexplored caves. The project is good for a variety of exp
 erience levels\, because it offers so many caves of varying difficulty and
  depth\, with friendly surface camping\, and cave approach conditions. The
  project achievements have been to map lots of passage\, discover lots of 
 caves\, and report findings like many WW1 era hand grenades which pose a h
 azard\, dinaric caves beetles\, and water flowing deep underground. Notabl
 y the Jeges-ketlyuku system has 10km of passage and is 715m / 2346 ft deep
 . The expedition has also achieved fostering a fun community and maintaini
 ng good relations with local landowners.
