DESCRIPTION:The NSS owns 23 Nature Preserves and manages four others that b
 elong to private cave landowners and conservancies. A team of committed NS
 S volunteers manages each NSS Nature Preserve. These members interact with
  both the public and the NSS\, ensuring conservation efforts\, facilitatin
 g stewardship and management efforts\, and overseeing access for explorati
 on\, surveys\, and research.\n\nOur Nature Preserves are a commitment to f
 uture generations\, and we are proud to have such an outstanding portfolio
  of caves and karst landscapes accessible to NSS members\, as well as the 
 incredible support and dedication of our NSS Preserve Managers. Our commit
 tee reviews potential acquisitions as they come up\, and we always appreci
 ate suggestions for expanding our program. The NSS Board supports this ini
 tiative as a valuable benefit for all NSS members.\n\nAt our annual meetin
 g\, NSS Preserve Managers provide updates on conservation\, management\, v
 isitation\, research\, and stewardship activities at the NSS Nature Preser
 ves they manage. In addition\, the NSS Preserves & Acquisitions Committee 
 will share plans for capital projects in support of our 23 NSS Nature Pres
 erves\, as well as our pending acquisitions.
