Interest in caves can be expressed in numerous ways. In addition to photographing and surveying the cave's features, creating songs, poems, drawings, paintings, wood carvings, ceramics, or fabric items are additional avenues of sharing one's impressions of the underground world. I took on the project of reproducing a caving photograph as a detailed patchwork quilt. There were many steps in the process, and the result is somewhat imperfect but still worth the effort.
